The Customer – Hannah Battersea (Restaurant)
Hannah Battersea is an exciting, dynamic restaurant & bar, located minutes away from London’s busy Clapham Junction Station. The kitchen serves up brunch, lunch and dinner 7 days a week, with small plates available throughout the day. Hannah loves innovation and offers PYO (pour your own), with over 30 self-dispense beer and wine dispensers. It’s a perfect spot for a casual beer, date night or celebration with bookable tables in the open plan bar, or on the sun soaked patio.
The owners of Hannah, Cattle Grid Restaurants, wanted a restaurant Epos system to enable them to create an attentive customer experience while maintaining tight control of the business. In order to do so, they needed the epos system to smoothly and effectively process the customers’ journey through the onsite dining experience. In addition, they wanted to start up a click and collect service to reach new and existing customers on the go.
Serving staff needed to turn tables inside and outside on the patio quickly while ensuring orders are sent instantly to the kitchen. A tablet ordering system that was integrated into the main restaurant’s Epos solution was an essential requirement.
Kitchen staff needed orders to arrive on one ticket ordered by course, clearly showing the items to prepare alongside any modifiers, special instructions or options. The management team at Hannah needed the system to organise staff, keep on top of stock control, easily manage and update menus for onsite and online orders while promoting offers.
The client, working remotely, felt that it was important that the reporting solution within the restaurant Epos system, and accessible via a website, delivered clear product sales reports with sales trends analysis to help them fine tune the value proposition to customers and deliver profitability.

We demonstrated our Restaurant Epos System with integrated table-side ordering tablets and online ordering solutions to the client. This showed how easy it is to update menus and products in one central place. The client could see how the changes applied to all of their on-site and online sales channels immediately.
Gardiff’s team knew that the flow of orders from wait staff using tablets and click and collect orders into the kitchen was of paramount importance. Ensuring accuracy and speed were key decision factors in designing the restaurant Epos system. We highlighted the automation of processing incoming orders and sending preparation instructions to the relevant kitchen and bar printers without staff intervention.
The reporting solution: From the cashing up and end of day processes to daily and weekly sales reporting, we showed the team at Hannah and Cattle Grid Restaurants how Gardiff’s extensive reporting suite could identify opportunities for improvements. From reports available on the till, to an extensive reporting set in the cloud, key sales information is available in real-time on user friendly dashboards. In-depth reporting is a breeze on a mobile phone, tablet, or laptop.
Gardiff have been working with the Cattle Grid Restaurant group for many years and understood the needs of the business from the initial project management, through to the network implementation, Epos equipment installation, and on-site staff training.
Onsite, we delivered our Epos equipment (Epos software, Counter top terminals, Hand Held Tablets, Kitchen and Bar Printers, Cash draws all networked and connected to Wi-Fi). We also delivered a branded online ordering solution with a link integrated into Hannah’s website. Gardiff can also provide branded apps, downloadable for free, by restaurant customers from the Apple and Google Play stores. In addition, we can integrate orders from major delivery partners, including Just-Eat and Deliveroo.
Our in-house support staff enabled the cloud reporting tools and arranged access for Hannah’s management team and Cattle Grid Restaurants head office on the same day.
All our engineers are qualified to install equipment and train staff on how to use the system. This allows for any last-minute changes to menus, system configurations, and provides answers to any remaining questions from stakeholders on the day. As well as onsite training, our engineers provided go-live cover to ensure confidence to the on-site team during service.
