The Customer – The Chesterford Group
A family run business established in 2004, the Chesterford Group is the largest chain of Fish & Chip shops in the UK, serving 3 million meals a year. They operate 40 fish and chip shops under 4 brands: Churchill’s, FishnChickn, Bankers and Serial Grill. In 2016 they were awarded the best chain of fish and chips shops in the UK at the National Fish and Chip Awards.
The Chesterford Group were looking for an upgraded till system that was simple, easy to set up and intuitive to use. As a fish and chip brand, takeaway orders make up a large portion of the business and so it was crucial the system could support this with online ordering functionality and Just Eat integration.
They needed access to real time sales data and KPIs, as well as cloud based comprehensive sales and stock reporting.
The Gardiff Solution
We supplied The Chesterford Group with a range of EPOS hardware across their locations, including modern, robust, ergonomic touch screen terminals, pay at counter card terminals, kitchen printers and screens, customer facing LED displays and collection point screens. The system comes complete with Just Eat integration and a centralised cloud back office.
The cloud back office reporting allows them to review sales and KPI data from all their sites instantly in one place, via PC, tablet or phone.
Online ordering is fully integrated with the EPOS system, with click and collect and takeaway options available via a bespoke branded desktop site and mobile app.
We have also supplied their Eastbourne store with a self-service kiosk with a view to roll these out to more stores this year. We will also be rolling out 50 new EPOS terminals to them as part of an upgrade package to ensure their technology remains up to date.
Gardiff have been working with the Chesterford group for many years and understood the needs of the business from the initial project management, through to the network implementation, Epos equipment installation, and on-site staff training.
For each site, we delivered our EPOS equipment (software, countertop terminals, kitchen printers, cash drawers, and display screens all networked and connected to wifi.) Our engineers install the equipment and give on-site training to staff on how to use the system.
Our support staff remotely set-up and enable the cloud reporting tools, arranging access for all of the Chesterford Group site management teams and head office.
We now fully manage their system including any menu and LED display changes or updates, ongoing hardware maintenance, and tech support. Pricing and product changes for all sites can be managed easily from one central location.
