BAFTA 195 Piccadilly is the renowned London home of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. In 2021 the historic venue underwent a major multi-million pound redevelopment, with future-focused updates. Gardiff were chosen to supply an EPOS system for the venue.

The Brief

Located in the heart of London’s West End, the venue is a world class space that provides innovative facilities for events. The redevelopment is spread across five floors, with a variety of spaces and theatres. The system needed to work effectively across these spaces from a centrally managed location using cloud back office.

For ensure smooth management of orders between front and back of house, BAFTA were also looking for a kitchen display system for use in their 3 kitchens; serving a range of menus from a la carte to standing receptions and seated dinners.

To supplement the system, they also were looking for customer facing displays, payment terminals and bespoke RFID cards for BAFTA members.

The Solution

We installed an EPOS system spanning across five floor, including touch screen tills, customer facing displays and integrated payment terminals. The customer facing displays are personalised with BAFTA branding and allow guests to view a breakdown of their order. The tills are linked to a kitchen display system, which allows orders to be organised on a screen, eliminating the need for paper and printing. Custom preparation timers can be set, to ensure meals go out on time.

Bespoke RFID cards were supplied, creating a streamlined experience for BAFTA members. The system is tied together with a centralised back office. This is used to update menus, access reports and view sales data across the venue.

The whole installation was implemented out of hours on a weekend, ready to be operated on Monday morning. Our team also provided on-site go live cover, so there was an immediate resolution to any snagging issues.

The Results

We’re delighted that the Gardiff EPOS system has played a part in establishing the new BAFTA headquarters as a world-class venue, with 5 floors of flexible event spaces. The system allows the front of house team to provide the high levels of customer service the venue is known for, while improving communications with the kitchen.

The management team are able to view reports and sales data from their own devices using the cloud back office, using the data to resolve problems, find opportunities for improvement and streamline the business.
